The fact that you’re here, reading this, suggests to me that you’re already pretty great! It shows that you’ve seen something in yourself that you want to improve, or you just want to be EVEN GREATER than you already are.
You’re my kind of person!
I’ve also written this from the perspective of: when someone asks you “how are you?”, I want you to be able to respond with “GREAT!”, as opposed to “I’m good”.
Not surprisingly, the two go hand in hand.
Sometimes, in the hustle and bustle of military life, the planning and re-planning then going back to the original plan but in double time….the ability to think about what YOU need to do to grow, can get put on the back burner.
I wanted to a few tips with you, to keep at the forefront of your mind each day so that you can wake up every day and not just FEEL great, but BE great!
Below are three things that I wanted to start off with, I have so many more, but I appreciate you don’t have hours to spending reading my blog, so the rest is coming soon!
-
Schedule your day
From past experience, I found that if you don’t make time for something in your day, chances are it’s not going to happen.
Things will always crop up and if you don’t have the ability to say no, or put it aside until later, you’ll find it increasingly difficult to get done what you really need to!
I spend an hour, EVERY Sunday evening making space in my diary for the things I need to get done for the following week.
Splitting these things into 3 different “buckets” helps tremendously!
Bucket 1: Absolute must-dos, non-negotiable.
Bucket 2: Need to get done at some point during the week.
Bucket 3: Would be nice, but my life won’t end if it doesn’t happen.
To paint the picture for you, examples of each of these would be:
Bucket 1: Client meetings, doctor’s appointments, weightlifting training, child pick-ups etc.
Bucket 2: Quality time with the hubs, food shopping, blog writing, content creation, self-care etc.
Bucket 3: Coffee dates, re-painting the living room, getting my hair done.
You want to get your bucket 1 items in first, then bucket 2, then where you see gaps and can fit in bucket 3 items add those in.
This way, you’re getting done your big ticket items, making time for you (see number 2!) and doing your “nice-to-dos” if and when you have time.
Each week will vary depending on your goals for that week – play around, have fun with it and see what works for you!

Make time for YOU
I cannot stress this one enough! I also know that this will be hard pill for some of you to swallow, especially you Mamas out there.
I used to feel SO guilty taking time for myself and so I 100% understand how you feel, if you do too. However, once I started making the time, I noticed a significant different in myself, my relationships and my ability to help other people.
I get it, we don’t have hours upon hours to sit and meditate and contemplate the meaning of life. But, we can give ourselves, 10, 15, 30 minutes for just ourselves. For YOU.
Time to switch off your brain, time to practice gratitude (see number 3!), time to get to know yourself and align with the life that you want.
Yes, I appreciate it sounds like a lot of thinking for 30 minutes, but if you take 30 minutes every single day? Well, that’s a lot of minutes!
By doing this, we are able to re-charge our minds and bodies in order to give our best selves to the people we love, care about and want to help.
There is no right or wrong way to do this. What works for you?
Do you like to soak in the bath? Get up early and drink coffee as the sun comes up, alone in peace and quiet.
Do you meditate? Have you even tried to?
Do you journal, talk to yourself, write?
It doesn’t matter what it is, as long as it works for you, fits in with your day and makes you feel AMAZING!

Be grateful
For many people, the idea of practicing gratitude can seem quite “woo woo”.
I’m not suggested you are ungrateful in any way, but I do believe that there is a difference between being grateful and actively practicing gratitude.
However, spending time thinking about all the things that you have in your life to be grateful for, opens your heart and mind to so much more to be grateful for!
Listing out EVERYTHING, and I mean everything, creates such a high vibe feeling that you start to feel unstoppable and capable of anything!
If you start every day like this, spending 5 minutes writing down what you’re grateful for, you’ll see a noticeable difference in how you react to things; how you approach situations and the opportunities that present themselves to you.
Sometimes it can be hard. You’re in a mood and there can’t possibly be anything to be grateful for.
The you sit down and realise you have something to sit on. Hands to write with. A new day in front of you with endless possibilities……
If you’re rolling your eyes at me and calling me “that crazy woo woo lady” – then great! I’m all about it!
But try it for 21 days, then come back to me and tell me it hasn’t made the slightest bit of difference……
Until next time,
